On 10/25, we had to put our cherished dog, Chelsea, to sleep. She was 14yrs old & suffering from a brain tumor. This was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do.
Dr. Brad's compassion & care in Chelsea's last days went above & beyond. On the day that we put her down, Dr. Gottlieb & Tracy were so sympathetic & did their best to comfort us during such a difficult time. They did not rush us & took the time to explain the process to us.
I have nothing but great things to say about Island Trees Vet Hospital & I have recommended & will continue to recommend them to all of my friends.

Amazing Hospital And Staff!!

Oct 25, 2014 by Dara

I am in utter SHOCK as to read such negative reviews for Island Trees Veterinary Clinic! I am here to change this IMMEDIATELY!!!! First off my name is Dara and my beautiful puppy is Bella. My first experience with this office was AMAZING from the greeting at the door by Sue at the receptionist desk to filling out paperwork, and not even a 10 minute wait to be seen and be examined by the most phenomenal Dr. I was so scared and nervous because Bella is my little Fur-Baby and a member of my family. This was her first surgery having being spayed and it was traumatic for a new mommy (Me), not knowing what to expect. If it wasn’t for Sue and Tracy, I would have been a total wreck leaving Bella for the overnight surgery. Sue and Tracy were so sympathetic and caring and put my heart and Bella at ease. Their prices are VERY reasonable and everything was explained IN DETAIL before anything was done and/or charged. I am actually going back to get Bella micro chipped when she heals. While waiting for Bella to go in, we all started to talk and not only has Sue expressed she has a dog of her own, but she made me and the other patients in the waiting room feel like family where every fur-baby was treated like her own. She was very intuitive to my needs and that is very important in selecting my new forever doctor at Island Trees. This veterinary office is like NO OTHER I’ve ever seen before. I can\'t say enough great things. When the Doctor first met me, he had a great personality, and his sense of compassion for the animals was seen immediately. He held Bella on the table and did a thorough evaluation on her including range of motion, checked her gums, ears, you name it, it was checked. (Tell me what animal sits still and not wants to run for the door). Bella sat still and loved the Dr as well as the vet technicians. Bella gave a little trouble getting on the scale but hey….what girl wants to get on a scale right??, What a great office with such professionalism that they come highly recommended by me and all of my neighbors who have furry family members. Bella has another appointment in two weeks and she is already springing back to her normal self. I actually have Bella’s sister and neighbor making an appointment to switch to this hospital as well. I cannot thank the Dr, Sue and Tracy, for not only being the BEST office, but for making me feel so comfortable to want to spread the word and the love for all animals by bringing them to Island Trees Veterinary hospital. You made a worried and nervous mom, feel safe bringing her little one to be cared for and seen immediately. If ANYONE has any questions or concerns that I can assist in any way shape or form, please do not hesitate to contact me. I can go on and on with wonderful reviews about this office. On the way out from this last appointment, I had also had the pleasure of meeting other parents such as myself who I had made friends with, so one day we can all have puppy play dates. That’s how close and like family we all were there. If there were 10 STARS to give this office I would!!!!!

Returning to Island Trees a pleasure

I had gone to this animal hospital in Hicksville in the past before my previous dog \"Poochie\" suddenly died at only 7 1/2 years in 2010. I finally had the heart to get another adorable puppy \"Penny\" early this year.
I tried another vet\'s office because I knew it would be hard to go back to the place where I last saw Poochie on a table... Needless to say, the other place wasn\'t nearly as nice, spacious, light and friendly. Last week I took my almost 11 month old-Penny in for a check up and even though tears filled my eyes when I saw that room, I was really pleased to meet doctor Brad G. He seems to be very caring and loving with the patients he saw while I was there. I think he liked Penny and I know she definitely liked him (she gave him a hug!) and the assistant (she gave her kisses!) who was also very nice all the time. I recommend this place 100% I look forward to many years together!

Compassionate and caring vets and staff!

I am a new pet owner and I came to Island Trees Vet in Hicksville because it was highly recommended to me. Both the staff and doctors were AMAZING! They answered all my questions and were very compassionate. My dog was not only neutered by Dr. Brad but was also micro chipped. I am a very nervous person, and Dr. Brad and his staff put my mind at ease about the entire process, explained everything in detail and ensured I was comfortable before leaving. I would highly recommend Island Trees!

Island Trees Veterinary Hospital in Hicksville offers by far, the BEST veterinary care on Long Island. From the receptionists to the vet techs to the veterinarians themselves, Island Trees is definitely #1 in my book. I first went to Island Trees about five years ago with my lab mix who suffered from severe allergies. For months, I tried to relieve is itching with at home remedies, special food, etc., but nothing worked for him. Dr. Brad Gottlieb not only helped us eliminate the idea of a food allergy, but he pointed us to LIVS, where my dog, Brody, was tested and made a custom allergy serum to combat his allergies! We visit ITVH about once a month for his monthly shot, and each time the staff there is kind, compassionate and very knowledgeable. I wouldn\'t go anywhere else!

Dr. Gottlieb & Dr. Caren are the best vets in Hicksville and Long Island you could ever hope to find for your animal babies. I started going to them about 20 or so years ago. My daughter Karli has been going there at least 15 with her own animals. Having to leave them when moving to NC really broke my heart, they are both irreplaceable, as Drs & people! Hopefully one day soon my babies will get to know them!! I always tell people that I had the best vets when living on Long Island, I trust them with my pets like I would trust them with my children!! They are both excellent doctors & kind, caring people!!

Best Veterinary Ever!

We have been going to Island Trees for many years for all our pets. All the doctors and staff are caring, professional and compassionate, especially when we had to lay down our beloved dog, Daxy, of 17 years in April. Dr. Brad Gottlieb and the staff were very comforting and supportive. We highly recommend this Hicksville veterinary hospital for providing excellent care.

I have nothing but fantastic things to say about Island Trees Vet. My cat Jack was 17 and while healthy, had a lot of elderly cat problems. Whenever I took him to the vet for checkups, everyone I dealt with was patient, thorough and knowledgable. From the desk staff to the techs to the doctors themselves, everyone is competent and caring. I brought him in just to get his nails trimmed and to pick up special food and every time I was greeted by name and offered efficient, professional service. When Jack was near the end of his life, everyone was compassionate and conscientious with his declining health as well as incredibly kind and patient with me, the devastated pet owner. Whenever I called with a lot of questions, they were immediately available to offer me advice and assistance. When I eventually had to put him to sleep I was amazed at the way it was handled- I brought him into the office during a special time when everything was quiet and was able to have his last moments with a team of people that I felt truly cared about both my cat and myself. when it was time to adopt a new cat, I needed verification from the vet that I was a responsible person and yet again, Island Trees went above and beyond, writing me a fantastic letter of recommendation (spelling my name right without even asking, which is a feat in itself!) I of course bring my new cat to this vet and continue to receive the excellent care I have come to expect. I have recommended others to this practice and I know they are satisfied as well. I simply cannot say enough good things about this veterinary practice!

Its been awhile since the day after Mothers Day 2014, We had 3 dogs , Cookie, Ivy Bichon Frise and Promise a mix Lab. Island trees and there front Staff are great to us. They understood the situation and fits us in even if its the last of the day. All 3 were taken care of by Dr. Gottlieb and Dr.B Gottlieb later on and "Especially" Dr. Caren. Promise would have been 14 this month. It was sad to see all 3 go separately but the healing process is slowly kicking in. Pat and I want to thank Tracy and Susan who usually talk to us and to the wonderful staff who took care of them during our visits. Cookie ,Ivy and Promise are happy and running across the field looking down on us and Thanking everyone who touched their lives.........

Only the Best for Our Best

Each one of our three Portuguese water dogs are by far the family favorites. They lead spoiled, pampered and loving lives so it only makes sense to spoil them with the best in veterinary care which can be found at Island Trees. At Island Trees Veterinary Hospital they administer both medical and loving care as if they were looking after their own. I have a comfortable and confident feeling whether I am leaving them there for a medical procedure or merely a couple of days to board. The staff goes out of their way for your pets as well as to give you the peace of mind that comes with knowing your loved ones are in the best possible care. Thank you for 11 years of first class treatment!
